Flipped Classrooms
Flip teaching is a form of blended learning which encompasses any use of Internet technology to leverage the learning in a classroom, so that a teacher can spend more time interacting with students instead of lecturing. Flip teaching allows more hands-on time with the instructor guiding the students, allowing them to assist the students when they are assimilating information and creating new ideas (upper end of Bloom's Taxonomy), from Wikipedia
The 'flipped classroom' was popularised by U.S. chemistry teachers Jonathan Bergmann and Aaron Sams. Bergmann believes that the biggest impact of flip teaching in his classroom is to increase human contact. Here are some YouTube videos discussing implementation of the flipped classroom.
You can find more discussions here, including how reverse instruction scaffolded one teacher's classroom to student-centered independent learning.
